Warfarin tablet, a blood thinning drug used in coagulation disorders, heart valve replacement, thrombosis and heart arrhythmias, requires constant INR analysis. These tests may be temporary, but for patients who use Warfarin for life, going to the hospital every month or week and having their blood fluidity measured is a very difficult process. For this reason, thanks to the Handheld Devices developed, the fluidity of the blood can be measured at home and the dose of Warfarin can be adjusted remotely, thanks to the INR (International Normalized Ratio) analysis performed at home with a drop of blood, without ever going to the hospital. The results reach the Doctor or Healthcare Professionals via the mobile device and the dose is adjusted, the time of Warfarin use and the time of the INR tests are notified to the patient instantly from the Dakik Drug Reminder system, and the patients take their tablets without forgetting.
The INR value should be between 2 and 4 in most patients, as predicted by Health Professionals. When this value is high, it may cause bleeding, and when it is low, it may cause “clotting” or, in those with a mechanical valve, the valve may become damaged and filled with clot.
